Amy Smart is a former American actress and model. She was born in California USA, Amy Smart started her modeling career in California. The first time she acted was in the TV film Her Costly Affair. After a very difficult struggle to get a part, she was offered a role as "Starship Troopers" her role in Starship Troopers. It was difficult for her to make the transition from modelling to acting as models were not believed to be actors and tended to be given smaller and inconsequential parts. However, Amy was determined to keep going and transitioned to more prestigious roles. It all started with the show The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. In 2005, she took as the lead in the romantic comedy Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Amy found her recognition after more than 10 years of working. Amy worked on some of the biggest films including the Crank series with Jason Statham as well as Shameless in which she played an enduring character.
