Amy Smart, an American actress and former model. Amy Smart was born and brought up in California, America. Amy Smart began modelling in Italy. She began her acting career in 1996, when she appeared in her debut in the TV movie Her Costly Affair. Her struggle to land the role for Starship Troopers, a film that featured mostly minor roles, was a gruelling battle. The transition was difficult for Amy because she had to move from modelling into acting. Models aren't thought of as great actors and so tend to get smaller, insignificant roles. Amy was never discouraged. Her first part came from The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. Amy then stepped into lead roles in the 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy was recognized after more than ten years of trying. She then worked on many of the greatest movies, including the Crank series with Jason Statham as well as Shameless in which she portrayed a character who remained in the spotlight for a long time.
