Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She is the author of fifteen books and is the cofounder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is an author, television personality, philanthropist and also the proprietor and editor of The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was in Greece then moved to England when she was sixteen. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in Economics. As the first foreign student to be elected president in the famous debate club The Cambridge Union, at 21 years old she took on the role. Her popularity as a conservative columnist was consolidated after she completed her studies. When the Huffington Post was launched The Huffington Post a few year later, she established an online voice-portal that provided critical opinions on the politics. The fame she gained enabled her to get a variety of celebrities to contribute their opinion regarding current affairs, the political and culture. Arianna gained fame after she made the decision in 2003 to run as an Independent candidate in the California Recall election to succeed former Governor Davis. She also headed a Detroit fuel-efficient car project. Forbes listed her as one of one of the "most important woman" within the field of media with her ranking at the 12th spot. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 most important media figures in 2009. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she was made president of this media group. This included many AOL products at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and manager Konstantinos as well as his spouse Elli Stasinopoulos. Her life was shaped through her relationship with her mother as well as her relationship with her father even though she was very close to her father. In her early years, she displayed her leadership skills that she is still known for. In the year she turned 16, she moved from the United States to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. She joined Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college in which she became the first woman to be elected president. In 1972 she graduated with the degree of master's in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a journalist-critic as well as a TV host. Her appearance in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also notable. Her first novel was written. books and enlisting his assistance for editing.
