Lee
Lee Roy Selmon has a tradition that blends family scholarship football and community service. First family he is the youngest of the nine children of Lucious Selmon and Jessie. They grew up on a farm in Eufala, Oklahoma. In second football, he was the third brother who were players for Oklahoma. Three brothers all made All-Americans. The year 1973 was the first time Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the starters for one year. Lee Roy was named the best offensive lineman in the nation by the Outland and Lombardi Awards. Over the course of three seasons, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy being the starting player. They also won two national championships. He received a third scholarship in 1975 and designated an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon obtained his master's degree in educational studies. Fourth year of the college Lee Roy devoted ten hours each week on volunteer work. In Tampa the Buccaneers, he was a player for the Buccaneers for nine seasons, and eventually became an all-pro. He also began an entrepreneurial career. His first job was as a Account Relations Officer with First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked in the past for Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized Lee Roy as one of the Ten of America's top young men. When he was a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighs a little over 256 lbs. He was captain of his college team in the year 1975. In 1993, he was named as associate director at the University of South Florida. He has been inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded its Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma presented the award.
